The word “styling” means the process of creating a hairstyle. To some extent, you could say that styling is hair setting. But to be precise, there is a difference between these two concepts. You can do a hair set simply with a hair dryer or straightener, whereas STYLING means using special products such as mousses, gels, pastes, hair waxes, and many others. Good pre-styling and styling products make blow-drying easier, protect the hair from high temperatures and mechanical damage when using a hair dryer, straighteners, curling tongs, and from the negative effects of UV rays.
No less important, styling and pre-styling can also act as care products that improve and restore the hair. As a rule, such products contain caring components—oils, proteins, provitamins. The composition may also include special ingredients that protect against harmful environmental effects, repel dirt and moisture from the hair, allowing it to stay clean longer.
WHAT WE RECOMMEND:
For a voluminous hairstyle, we can recommend using products designed specifically for this purpose—for example, special styling mousses that add EXTRA VOLUME. Take a small amount of mousse (about a tennis ball) on a flat brush or comb. Then distribute the product along the entire length of the hair, paying special attention to the root area. Next, using a hair dryer and a round brush, pull the strands from the ends toward the roots. This technique helps achieve the effect of additional volume.
What is PRE-STYLING, then? For those who don’t yet know, pre-styling is needed to prepare the hair for styling. It is, in a sense, the foundation for styling. It is additional care for a healthy appearance of the hair and extra protection from high temperatures and mechanical damage when using styling tools.
If, for example, you have fine and weakened hair, then it’s a good idea to use a product that will help give the hair extra volume and texture. If your hair is naturally curly, then you’ll need a product to tame it a bit and smooth it before styling. In other words, pre-styling products are applied to the hair directly before styling itself (often with a hair dryer). They significantly simplify and facilitate the styling process, provide better control, and help create any styles you want.
WHAT WE RECOMMEND:
FINISHING
The word speaks for itself: the completion of the styling process, the fixation of your hairstyle. Finish products are products applied to dry hair and help set/fix the style. Traditionally, these are hair spray or lacquer. Shine sprays and some serums are also examples of finishing products. It’s worth remembering that using the “right” finishing products provides not only reliable hold but also a beautiful appearance for your hairstyle. Typically, finishing sprays are applied from a distance of 20–30 cm. For those who want maximum volume, it’s advisable to spray fixation products closer to the roots, avoiding contact with the scalp.
